One of the largest seizures in recent months, involving more than five million meth medications, has been found in Saraburi, according to Provincial Police Region 1.

A full of 5.2 million cocaine pills were intercepted by authorities on the Sudbantad Road in Kaeng Koi area last Friday, said Pol Maj Gen Silpakom Iamwong, acting PPR1 director, at a press conference on Monday.

The medications, packed in 12 baskets, were found hidden in a Bangkok-registered delivery vehicle driven by Phusit, alias Bang Sup, 47.

Mr. Phusit allegedly told police that he had been hired for 30 000 ringgit to bring the medication from the Northeast to Central Plains regions for distribution. He added that this was his second illegal drug shipment.

He is accused of bringing illegal drugs into his possession with the intention to buy.

The heroin supplements had a road price of 167 million baht, according to the acting director.

He claimed that the investigation was being widened by police, which may result in more suspects being apprehended in the distribution channel.
