According to the soldiers, evidence and testimony interviews back up the claim that an Olympic gold medalist was a victim of fraud.

A senior official said that the police have recommended that Olympic gold medalist Somluck Kamsing been charged with all four counts in a sexual assault complaint that was made against him last December.

Officials have completed their investigation, according to Pol Lt Col Suparerk Suwanraj, deputy chief inspector of the Muang city police. Somluck should be fully charged on four matters.

The offenses include attempting to rape a slight who is older than 15 but less than 18 from their parents or guardians, taking a small to perform an obscene act, committing an obscene act, and attempting to rape a slight.

According to Pol Lt Col Suparerk, the indictment is based on the evidence and the interviews with 10 witnesses, adding that the case has been forwarded to the prosecutors who will make a final decision.

A 17-year-old girl filed the complaint against Somluck in the early months of December. She claimed she met him at a bar in the Muang district before the former celebrity boxer assaulted her in a hotel room.

Somluck&nbsp, turned himself in&nbsp, shortly afterwards to answer charges. He apologized in public to the victim and her family, denied all the accusations, and was temporarily released.

A Muay Thai fighter by training, Somluck, 51, won the country’s first- ever Olympic gold medal, in Atlanta in 1996.
