Police reopen 6 areas around Marina Bay after closure due to large crowds at New Year countdown

SINGAPORE: Following a heavy rainstorm at the New Year’s countdown event, the police reopened six regions around Marina Bay early on Wednesday ( January 1 ).

On Tuesday evening, the Singapore Police Force closed exposure to Jubilee Bridge, Merlion Waterfront, Fullerton Waterfront, Esplanade Waterfront, Marina Bay Sands Waterfront and the Helix Bridge. &nbsp,

The officers reported in an upgrade on Wednesday at around 1.30am that the crowd situation had subsided and that all locations had been reopened to the public.
