Thailand: A Foreign gentleman has thanked local authorities for their help in finding a gemstone- studded gold ring for 750, 000 baht that he lost on a road in Muang district.

Wang Lei, 45, even expressed his gratitude to a Myanmar girl who had found the wedding gift and brought it to a local police station.

Mr Wang filed a report with the Muang city authorities stop at 12.50am Friday, saying he had lost his Cartier ring while parking his vehicle on Thalang Road in tambon Talad Yai at about 11pm on Thursday.

The ring was for about 150, 000 renminbi, or about 750, 000 rmb, according to Mr Wang. He told police it had sentimental value because it was a wedding present.

On Friday night, police investigators and tourist authorities took the user to the region where the ring was last seen. A review of surveillance video showed a younger girl picking it up from the road.

The soldiers located the lady, who was a Burmese national selling products in the area. She told authorities that she had now handed the ring in to authorities at the depot at 10.30am on Friday.

Mr Wang was therefore contacted to come and get the ring at the place.
