The Central Investigation Bureau ( CIB ) has increased its use of technology to enhance its work and services, including conducting regular monitoring of operations to stop scams involving the government’s digital wallet scheme.
Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin received news about the CIB’s efforts to combat cybercrime during the president’s Friday attend to its offices.
The CIB has been using technology to enhance police work and make their businesses more open to the community, according to CIB director Pol Lt. Gen. Jirabhop Bhuridej.
The bureau is working to strengthen its three tech-based projects: Digital Transformation, National CCTV Big Data and National Intelligence Function Center ( NIFC).
According to Pol Lt. Gen. Jirabhop, switching reporting systems to electronic archives saved time and cut down on the number of officers required for investigation tasks.
Meanwhile, he claimed that artificial intelligence ( AI ) would boost public safety by combining information from CCTV cameras across the country into a single large data set.
He added that the bureau intends to centralize legal information to aid in the intelligence community and facilitate unlawful analysis.
The NIFC is expected to aid in protecting the nation from foreign extremists, according to Pol Lt. Gen. Jirabhop.
Mr. Srettha responded to the review by saying the government supported and appreciated the CIB’s work, and that it should help protect its operations from social sanctions and corruption.
He also mandated that the officers ‘ safety be ensured by CIB, adding that all necessary gear, particularly for the use of narcotics, may be present.
The prime minister also advised the CIB to concentrate on applications and websites that, in the beginning, are linked to the digital wallet flyer policy.
Registration kicked off on Thursday, and over 20 million people enrolled in the first 48 time only.
Pol Lt Gen Jirabhop said the commission needed to investigate the system more in order to identify potential gaps that could cause threats and harm to the state despite the lack of abnormalities discovered so far.
According to Pol Lt. Gen. Jirabhop, Pol Lt. Gen. Samran Nuanma, associate federal police commander, will serve as the CIB’s direct officer in the position.
