Police are looking for the mastermind behind a 9 million baht payment demanded to divert a new road away from a golf course as part of their investigation into a corruption scandal at the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration ( BMA ).
According to Pol Maj Gen Charoonkiat Parnkaew, deputy commissioner of the Central Investigation Bureau ( CIB ), investigators had finished questioning the four first suspects in the case by Tuesday.
The primary think, Peempong Hirunpuek, 46, was being held in custody. The various three, two female and one man, were allowed release on parole. They are Mr Peempong’s family Oranut Detdard, 38,  , Linda Kamlanglerd, 43, and Pongphon Thavornvong, 52,  , Pol Maj Gen Charoonkiat said.
Mr Peempong, a senior legal expert in the BMA’s public works department, was refused loan because he , failed to engage during questioning. He claimed that the Central Criminal Court would prosecute him in cases involving bribery and wrongdoing.
According to the CIB assistant captain, investigators thought another, more older civil servant was involved as well, and that he may have been the instigator of the need for the reward. They had some proof to back up this assertion.  ,
On Monday, Mr. Peempong and Ms. Oranut were detained at their home in Nonthaburi after allegedly demanding nine million ringgit to change the Liab Waree Road project’s layout. The pair want to give the Windsor Park &, Golf Club in the district of Nong Chok.  ,
The arresting group impounded assets including their , property, property deeds, extravagance cars, five Harley- Davidson motorcycles and pawn tickets for 100- baht weight gold items for 3.4 million baht, for examination.
Ms. Linda was visiting her home in Bangkok’s Suan Luang area when Mr. Pongphon was detained at his home in Nakhon Ratchasima.
