Police flat bombing kills 1, injures 16 in Yala

In the southern border state of Bannang Sata on Sunday morning, a bomb detonated in front of a police building killing at least one person and injuring 16 people.

Around 10:30 a.m., the blast occurred in front of the Bannang Sata police station’s apartment. The location is close to the Bannang Sata city company and a business, which are both in the city of Bannang Sata.

Glass windows and ceiling tiles in the apartment and nearby homes were damaged by the explosion’s effects. Authorities feared that more bombings might occur at the fire site.

Witnesses claimed that the car bomb was a weapon, but authorities were unsure whether it was a coupe or a pickup truck as many cars parked in front of the apartment complex. One auto exploded in flames, and two other vehicles were also damaged.

The deceased victim was a lady who had yet to get identified. Of the 16 wounded people, six were officers soldiers and ten were local people. Five were really hurt by glass and debris. Additionally, the injured people experienced stomach problems. At Bannangsata Hospital, they received care.

The explosion was the first car bomb blast in the far west this year.
