Police bust billion-baht gambling site, multiple arrests

Police detained 13 people for allegedly having an alleged connection to a gaming site that generates more than 1.6 billion baht annually and had 20 million baht worth of assets seized by them.

Thanawan Jiracharoenwes, a well-known 43-year-old fengshui learn, is the subject of the prosecutions, which are related to a case involving Tili, a well-known fengshui expert.

According to Pol Maj Gen Wittaya Sriprasertparp, the head of the Customer Protection Division, he had previously been detained for allegedly defrauding 117 persons of 130 million baht overall. The Criminal Court is hearing that event.

According to police authorities, Mr. Thanawan allegedly invested the proceeds of his victims ‘ money in a well-known gambling site, SBOBET, worth about 90 million baht.

Police detained the alleged trader, identified just as Thanaphat, 58, and 12 alleged accomplices on Sunday during raids on three luxurious residences in Bangkok and Pathum Thani, after two weeks surveillance and monitoring the site. Additionally, according to the authorities, goods worth 20 million baht are believed to have been obtained illegally.

According to authorities, the site has been in operation for more than ten years and generates more than 1.6 billion baht annually.

In the fengshui expert case, authorities were looking for goods lost by reported patients. According to police, they may even bring legal action to seek damage settlement.
