In his notice, Mr Wong even talked about the release of the Singapore- UK” proper partnership” in September 2023, calling it a “key milestone” in diplomatic relations.  ,
As part of the partnership, Singapore is seeking to strengthen , cooperation in areas like artificial intelligence ( AI), digital technology, renewable energy and sustainability.  ,
According to Mr. Wong,” These activities may open up new opportunities for our people and businesses.”  ,
” We can work together to improve our states’ shared interests and handle common difficulties” . ,
Mr. Wong also shared his excitement with Mr. Starmer and his team on Facebook, adding,” I look forward to working with them to improve our corporate partnership.
Singapore praised the UK’s continued involvement in the region, particularly as a dialogue partner with the Association of Southeast Asian Nations ( ASEAN ) and as a fellow member of the Five Power Defence Arrangements.
In August 2021, the UK was given the status of an ASEAN speech partner.
Mr. Wong expressed his wish for Mr. Starmer’s success and good health, adding that he was looking forward to meeting him immediately.
