Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha has ordered another investigation into the Chon Buri pub fire that killed 14 people and injured 36 other people after an initial probe found the organization had been illegally modified and operated.

The inferno started at about 1am on Friday at the customer-packed Mountain W pub, according to police.

Ten men and four females died in the fireplace, all of them local residents, police said.

Four charred bodies were discovered behind the front doorway of the one-storey constructing, three in a men’s restroom, one in a DJ booth plus five at a cashier’s booth, police stated, adding another sufferer later died within hospital.

Mountain B covers an area of three or more rai along Sukhumvit Road in the province’s Sattahip district.

The blaze is reminiscent of the Santika pub fire in Bangkok, which occurred during a January 1, 2009 Brand new Year’s Eve countdown. Sixty-six people were slain and more than two hundred others were wounded then.

Gen Prayut on Friday expressed sympathy for the victims from the Mountain B pub fire. He said he has instructed professionals to inspect the damage and take care of the injured and the relatives of the dead.

“Authorities have been purchased to find the cause of the incident and bring the culprit in for abuse, ” he mentioned. “This incident is comparable to the Santika bar fire in Bangkok. ”

He also pressured the need for pub workers to comply with regulations governing the design and modification of buildings.

“The Interior Ministry, provincial governors plus police have also been purchased to make sure similar occurrences do not occur in the future, ” he said.

Inner surface Minister Anupong Paojinda said the initial probe found Mountain W did not have a pub licence and it has been built in an area where entertainment venues were prohibited.

“Officials are checking the details of the building, which includes design, construction materials used, control systems and fire leaves, ” he said. “I told them to find the cause of the fire and [identify] people responsible for it. ”

Pol Maj Gen Atthasit Kitjahan, commander associated with Chon Buri law enforcement, said Mountain B was licensed to use as an eatery but had been illegally altered and used as an entertainment place.

He stated the building was almost completely destroyed — with its interior construction, decoration, soundproofing, phase and ceiling tiles engulfed by the blaze. Investigators have wondered the staff, owner, eyewitnesses and a good electrician recently hired to repair the building’s power system, he said.

Pol Maj Gen Chaipoj Suwanrak, mouthpiece commander of the Provincial Police Region two, said another übung found that no circuit breaker had been installed in the bar and there were just two fire extinguishers — which was disproportionate to the pub’s room.

Pongsiri Panprasong, the 27-year-old pub owner, stated it opened about two months ago and submitted a demand to operate as a pub on June thirteen.

Bangkok governor Chadchart Sittipunt on Friday  stated he had instructed town officials to step up the inspection of nightlife outlets across the capital as a preventive measure amid visitors returning to visit.
