Srettha Thavisin, the prime minister, claimed that TasteAtlas ‘ position of the renowned southern Thai curry made with fish entrails, kaeng tai army, was only able to accurately reflect the gastronomic preferences of some people.

” Culinary tastes are a personal matter. While some folks may criticize some Thai food, many more are regarded as among the best-tasting in the world, he said on Thursday.

Mr. Srettha explained that not everyone enjoys the imposingly savory flavor of kaeng chi army. However, for a strong personality is what makes the food special and popular, making it one of his personal favorites.

He claimed that one of the government’s efforts to promote Thai food was powerful. Several Thai dishes have been very cherished worldwide, including massaman cake, phad Thai noodles, stir- cooked phad ka- phrao, and khanom khrok palm cream pancake.

The kaeng chi army, distinguished by its filthy consistency and flaming taste, is made with salt- cured fish entrails, shellfish paste, seafood and different spices, including chillis, peppers, galangal, yellow, and lemongrass.

The food was listed as the worst on TasteAtlas ‘ site ranking, published on March 16, based on a study of 301, 750 persons.

It was followed by Hákarl from Iceland, Fesikh from Egypt, Yerushalmi Kugel from Israel, and Luther Burger from America.

The outcomes caused Thai citizens to be puzzled because the food is so popular with locals, thus the new rising hashtag” Save Kaeng Tai Pla” on interpersonal media.

However, the poor rating achieved by kaeng chi army, according to Piyanat Kongnurat, a diner operator in the southern province of Satun, had piqued the interest of the public and boosted the restaurant’s sales volume.
