Following topping a quarterly poll conducted by the National Institute of Development Administration ( Nida ), Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra thanked the electorate for their support on Sunday.
31.35 % of respondents praised Ms. Paetongtarn’s leadership and attempts to alleviate the difficulties faced by the population.
Conveying the perfect leader’s love, Jirayu Huangsab, assistant to the prime minister, said Ms Paetongtarn credited the progress to the cooperation between federal agencies.
Ms. Paetongtarn urged all government agencies to keep fulfilling its pledges to end the country’s hunger, Mr. Jirayu said, despite the poll’s outcome reflecting the public’s endorsement of both the federal and the prime minister.
Women’s Party leader Natthaphong Ruengpanyawut, who ranked fourth in the Nida study, played down the result, saying swings in reputation were standard and usually depended on who conducted the survey.
But, he said, the ballot result would be used to boost the party’s performance.
Following the dissolution of its president, the Move Forward Party, on August 7, Mr. Natthaphong was elected as the head of the PP.
When asked if the group MPs ‘ conversations on Myanmar-related problems in the House affected its reputation, he said that was useless, before adding the group will be focused on facts and increasing its relationship with communities.
When asked whether Pita Limjaroenrat, the party’s former MFP leader, had a role in its popularity because he was outed from politics following the MFP’s dissolution, he claimed he has shown himself to be a capable party leader and that he has helped the party achieve electoral success.
The opposition will increase its scrutiny of the government, according to Mr. Natthaphong, who is scheduled to be formally appointed as the opposition leader this week.
