PM talks investment roadshow strategy

Srettha Thavisin, the excellent secretary and finance minister, is preparing for an investment show that will take place from September 18 to 24 while he is in New York for the 78th UN General Assembly.

Mr. Srettha met with Narit Therdsteerasukdi, secretary-general of the Board of Investment ( BoI ), yesterday to discuss the board’s plan to draw foreign investors while in the United States in order to get ready.

According to the leading, his government needs to get to work right away because international investments typically take two to three years to pay off. Foreign business leaders are expected to learn about funding opportunities in Thailand during his approaching journey.

He pledged to support and encourage investment projects that would benefit Thailand and stated that the information provided by the BoI would be used to hasten international opportunities there.

The BoI seeks to help investment in high tech, clean and bright industries, as well as businesses driven by creativity and innovation, all of which are thought to have sparked a new phase of monetary progress and increased competitiveness. This plan will be put into effect this year.

From 2018 to June of this year, the BoI approved foreign investment projects for 1.8 trillion ringgit, with electronics, petrochemicals, and cars and parts making up the first three industries.

While 21 other investment projects are being reviewed in accordance with the Competitiveness Enhancement Act, six projects totaling 29.8 billion ringgit are pending BoI account.

However, Mr. Srettha received a polite call from US Ambassador Robert F. Godec yesterday to congratulate him on being named prime minister. While Mr. Srettha stated that he hopes to satisfy US President Joe Biden at the UN meeting, Mr. Godec expressed his desire to strengthen diplomatic relations between the US and Thailand.

Both nations reaffirmed their dedication to enhancing cross-border participation in all spheres, particularly business, investment, and climate change. Parnpree Bahiddha – Nukara, Deputy Foreign Minister Sudawan Wangsuphakitkosol, and Dr. Prommin Lertsuridej, secretary-general of the prime minister, were likewise present.

The immediate task of his ministry, according to Mr. Parnpree, a part of Mrs. Srettha’s mission to the UN meeting, is to increase global confidence in Thailand.
