PM speeds up flood aid

Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra has given organizations the directive to increase comfort efforts to assist flood sufferers in the North’s most devastated regions, particularly Chiang Rai, as soon as possible.

Ms. Paetongtarn called an immediate appointment of government officials to discuss reduction steps for flood victims in the North soon after outlining the president’s policy speech in parliament on Thursday.

She instructed the Interior Ministry, the Defence Ministry, and the Agriculture and Cooperatives Ministry to tackle transporting people and cattle.

The Agriculture and Cooperatives Ministry had ensure adequate food supplies for cattle, while the Defense Ministry, the Public Health Ministry, and the Interior Ministry were given the order to look after those who were evacuated and deliver medical supplies.

The Royal Thai Police, the Defense Ministry, and the Interior Ministry are all in charge of looking after visitors ‘ homes and properties during the flood.

When the storm position eases, agencies will evaluate destruction to equipment and energy systems, collect complaints from locals, and repair ruined houses and structures.

The Department of Mineral Resources was given the task of speeding up job on warning systems in high-risk areas, along with the Agriculture and Cooperatives Ministry, to improve flood hillsides and strengthen drainage systems.

Environmental authorities were ordered to observe rain and water degrees, assess the situation, and sensitive other companies.

Local authorities did give residents health advice on how to get government assistance and get ready for an evacuation as well as safety instructions for flooding.

Additionally, Ms. Paetongtarn directed the Office of the National Water Resources, the Agriculture Ministry, and the Interior Ministry to develop long-term alternatives to storm issues.

The prime minister also emphasized the need to set up much temporary homes and kitchens to serve residents.

Ms. Paetongtarn stated after the meeting that she had been receiving standard upgrades on severe flooding in the North, especially in Chiang Rai and Chiang Mai.

” The state is not comfortable. Cabinet officials had already given guidelines to assist the afflicted people during the state policy statement. People may join hands to stop women’s difficulties as quickly as possible”, she said.

” I want to make a point of speaking to the people in the North, especially those in Chiang Rai. When the storm position reduces, we may ensure victims will receive payment, and early warning systems must also be improved”.

She added that she and some government ministers will make a visit to flood victims in Chiang Rai on Friday and that authorities do not need to encouraged her because they must concentrate on reduction activities. ” There is no need to welcome. Just give me some directions. We do n’t want to obstruct efforts to help affected people”, she said.

The prime minister also stated that the government would use money from the emergency fund of the central budget to assist flood victims.

She said anyone who wants to donate money to aiding relief efforts can do so through the Disaster Relief Fund at the Office of the Prime Minister. Sutthipong Juljarern, the Interior Ministry’s permanent secretary, said the flooding ravaging Chiang Rai’s Mae Sai district is the worst in 80 years.
