
Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra traveled to the Apostolic Nunciature of Thailand, the official name for the Vatican ambassador, on Thursday to mark the condolence book following Pope Francis ‘ departure.
On April 21 in Vatican City, the Pope passed away at the age of 88. On April 26, a grave large was held in Rome’s St. Peter’s Basilica.
Paolo Dionisi, the Roman ambassador to Thailand, and Dr. Somsak Leeswadtrakul, a well-known business and Thai charity, were among those who paid their respects, one of the highest distinctions the Catholic Church bestows on laypeople.
Ms. Paetongtarn previously expressed her grief over the bishop’s moving on social media.
She wrote,” On behalf of the Thai people, I express my deep grief and condolences for the departure of His Holiness Pope Francis.”
Millions of people from all religions and governments were inspired by his unwavering kindness, moral courage, heroic humility, and unwavering pursuit of peace. Thailand joins the rest of the world in mourning the loss of a genuine pillar of society. Does His Holiness rest in peace forever.
