Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra says she is confident that Thailand will benefit greatly from her recent visit to Beijing, particularly in terms of business and security.
On Okat Thai Kap Nayok Paetongtarn (” Opportunities for Thailand with Prime Minister Paetongtarn” ), which is broadcast on the state-owned NBT HD2 channel on the first Sunday of every month, the PM shared her thoughts on her official trip to China.
Ms. Paetongtarn visited China on February 8 and 9 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of political relations between the two nations.
During the visit, she met Chinese President Xi Jinping, National People’s Congress chair Zhao Leji, and Prime Minister Li Qiang.
She said that one of the issues discussed during the visit was the plan to send two enormous panda to Thailand and the development of a imperial archway to honor His Majesty the King’s 72nd holiday.
Ms. Paetongtarn added that the group discussed ways to improve their long-standing, pleasant relationships over the next 50 times.
She even urged Chinese tourists to travel to Thailand for the Songkran event in April, before praising Thai officials ‘ commitment to safeguarding the health of all visitors, including those from China.
Some Chinese are concerned about current reports of locals being target of scams crossing Thai border. The PM claimed that she and the Chinese also discussed ways to combat attacks and conglomerates of con artists.
She expressed her gratitude for Thailand’s support of the assault and pledged to set up a commission to help with it.
In an effort to guarantee all inquiries are answered right away, she said, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs may assign a delegate to work with the commission. The top added that she kept up with the Chinese president about the construction of Laos ‘ first high-speed rail link, which will eventually connect Thailand and China.
The project is anticipated to lower transportation costs and open up new business opportunities for producers and SMEs. China strongly supports the initiative and urged Thailand to quicken its construction, she said.
She noted that Beijing has requested additional practicality research information as it looks to expand its investment in China, which has also shown a great interest in the southeastern Land Bridge job.
