As she joined the” Study Again” battle at Government House on Tuesday, Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra has urged the people to donate used but well-maintained ebooks to promote browsing among children.

The plan, supported by the Mirror Foundation, set a goal of collecting a million ebooks by April 18, but funds have already stretched to six times this amount.

Sharing her love for reading, Ms Paetongtarn said her father, former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra, recommended the Harry Potter story to her some 20 years before, which inspired her to read more.

She said she enjoys reading to her own children and uses those teachings as inspiration to impart important life lessons, such as the value of putting away their clothes and toys.

” It makes training easier. They may have the books they prefer. I’ll get those for them. There is no limit, unlike for products”, Ms Paetongtarn said.

The top added that her children are particularly fond of Etsuko Bushika’s The Secrets of the Treehouse and that she typically reads them between two and five tales at once.

She urged parents to contribute any publications their children no longer apply, adding that she would also contribute some of the books from her individual collection to make room for others to read them and get inspired. Babies at Government House were also given copies of The Kind School and The Mysteries of the Treehouse by the PM.
