Following Pol Gen Torsak Sukvimol’s pension at the end of this quarter, Deputy Police Chief Pol Gen Kitrat Phanphet was appointed acting acting federal police chief.

Pol Gen Kitrat will start acting duties on October 1 with a written order from Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra. After Oct. 3, the Police Commission’s new rules will presumably take effect, so the hiring process can begin.

There are three possible candidates for the article: Pol Gen Kitrat, the most senior, authorities inspector-general Pol Gen Kraiboon Suadsong, the second most older, and deputy police chief Pol Gen Thana Choowong. Police Officer Gen Kitrat graduated with degrees from the Armed Forces Academies Preparatory School in Class 25. He is scheduled to leave in 2026.
