In order to create” Phuket Model” solutions that can be used in other regions, senior police officers and the chancellor of Phuket are negotiating with 12 ministers about acts committed by foreigners.
According to acting acting federal police chief Pol Gen Kitrat Panphet, the first discussions are aimed at finding solutions to reduce and stop crimes committed by foreigners on the visitor island, many of which have gained media attention recently.
The” Phuket Model” would be developed using the alternatives, according to Pol Gen Kitrat, and could be used in other counties that encounter similar problems.
According to him, the Phuket Model may contain information to inform readers about what behaviors and activities in Thailand are considered prohibited as well as safety measures and stringent law enforcement.
Pol Gen Kitrat said he had also instructed the Phuket officers, the Tourist Police, Provincial Police Region 8, and the Immigration Bureau to raise their vigilance for visitors engaged in illegal company.
Officials in Phuket have noticed an increase in complaints about immigrants in industries reserved for Thais, in many cases serving their own countrymen, in addition to attack involving immigrants.
