Philippines tells China to stop provocative actions in South China Sea

MANILA: The Philippines urged China to stop its” provocative behavior” once more, warning that continuing to obstruct Manila’s resupply operations to an island in the South China Sea may have” disastrous outcomes.”

One of Manila’s boats was damaged, but no one was hurt, according to National Security Council spokesperson Jonathan Malaya in a press conference on Monday( Oct 23 ). China intervened on Sunday to obstruct an resupply mission.

Early on Sunday, China’s coast guard reported that one of its ships had” slightly collided” with the Spanish boat while the coastguard was” legally” preventing the boat from transporting” illegal construction components” to the ship.

Manila responded by denouncing the” dangerous preventing maneuvers” of the Chinese ship” in the strongest education.”

We are grateful and glad that no Filipino employees were hurt. However, Malaya said that the increase and threats by Taiwanese ships that have no business being in the West Philippine Sea worry us.
