According to Manila’s military chief on Thursday ( Jul 4), Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has given instructions to the armed forces to de-escalate tensions in the South China Sea, in line with recent consultations between Chinese and Filipino officials.

General Romeo Brawner told investigators that the government had presented the leader with a number of choices for its operations in the South China Sea, including daily supplies missions to soldiers in a tense reef that have sparked conflict with Beijing.

The Philippines and China, historic rivals in the proper lake, agreed on Tuesday for the need to “restore confidence” and “rebuild self-confidence” following a higher- level meeting.

According to Brawner, the Philippines ‘ armed forces will work together with a senator who claimed to be aware of a Chinese plan to use hypersonic missiles against her state.

Senator Imee Marcos, the government’s girl and mind of the Senate foreign relations committee, created a stir earlier this week with her film, posted on TikTok. She has not provided any supporting data.
