Philippines: Mayor Alice Guo says she is a love child, not China spy

A Filipino president of a little farming village has claimed she is a “love baby” and not a spy for China.

At a republic reading, Mayor Alice Guo, who is being investigated for criminal activities, was unable to respond to questions about her household history and culture.

This led one senator to question whether she was an “asset” for Beijing.

” I want to show the people: I am not a detective. I am Filipino and that I adore my land,” Ms. Guo told the ABS-CBN News stream on Monday evening.

She even revealed that she was her Taiwanese family’s “love child” with his Filipina girl.

Her speech came after weeks of intense social media criticism, including memes that mocked her forgiving of alleged ties to China and her private life.

Ferdinand Marcos, leader, also spoke out and expressed his concern.

Ms. Guo is being investigated because it was discovered that a Bamban, Indonesian online game was truly a front for a scam center.

Her case is unfolding at an especially tense time between Manila and Beijing, who are locked in a dispute over reefs and outcrops in the resource-rich South China Sea.

Ms. Guo claimed that her mother abandoned her when she was a child and that she spent her childhood with her parents in Tarlac, a planting state north of Manila.

” I am my husband’s like kid with a lady… It’s a really personal matter. She said,” I ca n’t just tell anyone that my own mother deserted me.”

She apologised to lawmakers for not entirely illustrating her lineage because, during the evidence, “my mind only went blank.”

Ms. Guo acknowledged during the Senate hearing that her baby document was simply issued when she was only 17 years old. She said she was born in a home, instead of in hospital. She also claimed to have been household schooled, but could not give more details.

When it was discovered that she had registered to vote in Bamban village in 2021, the year before she properly ran for president, questions were raised even more.

Ms Guo said she was afraid of being illicit, and that is why she generally stayed inside the mother’s animal land.

” I had no friends. I had no siblings. I grew up buried in our farm”, she said.

But as she grew into her later youth, she said she got involved in her husband’s business. She promised to purchase corn from Tarlac cities to produce pig supply.

Legislators questioned Ms. Guo’s ability to know nothing about the legal actions hiding under the onshore game, away from her birth and education.

Spanish Offshore Gaming Operations, or Pogos, are what these are.

Ms. Guo claimed she had sold her interest before she was elected in 2022, but the Pogo that provided support for the groups in Bamban was constructed.

Authorities raided the facility last March and rescued close to 700 workers, including 202 Chinese nationals and 73 other foreigners who were forced to pose as online lovers.

The eight- square element was like a small area, complete with a supermarket, inventory, swimming pool, and also a wine cellar. The fraud center staff members worked with computers and rows and rows of much white furniture.

Pogos flourished during the tenure of Rodrigo Duterte, whose president, which ended in 2022, was marked by near relations to China.

Pogos have been closely watched by recent leader Ferdinand Marcos after it was discovered that some of them had been used as staging areas for online fraud and human trafficking.

She claims that the area and Ford Expedition have been sold longer before, just like the aircraft and Ford Expedition, which were both discovered in her name.

Ms. Guo was questioned about a popular pictures of her with a McLaren activities car during the broadcast meeting on Monday.

She claimed that a friend gave the McLaren as a loan for display at a city festival.

Ms. Guo even reiterated that she had no affiliation with Pogo or the swindling and individual smuggling organizations.

” I am not that effective. I am only a plain citizen from a subsequent- class municipality. I do n’t have those kinds of connections”, she said.

President Ferdinand Marcos has mandated that the government check Ms. Guo’s citizen and prevent foreigners from holding public office.

” I have heard speak that I would be deported. I was abandoned by my own family. Now, did my own nation deport me to”? she said.

She indicated that she would run for president again the following month. Municipalities in the Philippines are able to serve three consecutive three-year term.

” I did not withdraw. I will remain serving my electorate”, she said.
