One year after friends of his separated vice president, Sara Duterte, outperformed expectations in a fiercely contested and crucial Senate race, Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. said he was open to reconciliation with the Duterte home.
Marcos claimed in a podcast that was broadcast on his Facebook page on Monday ( May 19 ) that he needed friends to pursue his goals for the final three years of his presidency.
Presidents of the Philippines are only allowed to serve for a second six-year name.
After a bitter and widely open disagreement between Marcos and the Duterte camps that split the once-powerful alliance that won both elections in 2022, Marcos responded,” Yes,” when asked if he would be open to cutting gates.
What I’m looking for is balance, as much as possible, so that we can carry out our work. He continued,” I’m always available to stuff like that,” he explained on the radio.
Duterte’s office did not respond to a request for comment on Marcos ‘ notes right away.
