Philippines completes first South China Sea resupply mission since deal with Beijing

The Philippines ‘ foreign ministry reported that this was the first mission under a new agreement with China to calm tensions that the country made on Saturday ( Jul 27 ) to resupply its troops at a disputed South China Sea shoal.

Following numerous clashes between ships that have raised local issues about an increase of hostilities, the Philippines and China last year announced a “provisional deal” regarding Manila’s supplies missions to its force of troops on a naval fleet grounded on the Next Thomas Shoal.

In an effort to say the now defunct US ship as its own place in 1999, the Philippines consciously immobilized the now defunct former US ship at the shoal, provoking China, which has coast guard troops stationed there.

Saturday’s vision involved a human vehicle, escorted by the Spanish coast guard, with no unexpected occurrences reported, the foreign ministry said. A request for comment on the goal was not instantly received by China’s military in Manila.

Both China and the Philippines claimed that the deal may not alter their territorial views.
