The opposition Pheu Thai Party is likely to return to power in the coming general election, says former excellent minister Abhisit Vejjajiva.
Delivering a speech the other day at the Bangkok Post Forum 2022, “Thailand Ready: Moving onto the Next Chapter”, Mister Abhisit said the particular Thai political scenery was designed by those who wanted to see a coalition government with many parties, allowing the alleged “3 Ps” to keep power.
The 3 Ps is a nickname given to the three generals, EVENING Prayut Chan-o-cha, Mouthpiece PM Prawit “Pom” Wongsuwon and Internal Minister Anupong “Pok” Paojinda.
“They intended to achieve stability and safety for the political panorama but this has come with a price, which is increased frustration and disappointment, particularly among the youthful generation, ” Mr Abhisit said.
“They have got felt the continuity that comes with conservatism is not going to answer the problems in the future. The celebration that they have thrown their own support behind has been disbanded in a questionable decision.
“They put a higher priority on rights, liberty and democracy. Their disappointment continues to be building up for over 3 years. ”
He added the particular coalition government is not in a good condition. Current by-election results as well as the outcome of the Bangkok election reveal harmful sentiment towards the authorities, he said.
A recent alter to the electoral system will also benefit the Pheu Thai Party, he added.
“There is an hunger for change. It is likely the current opposition parties will win many vote in the Cheaper House, ” he or she said.
“It is also probably that Thaksin’s daughter will be the party’s applicant for prime ressortchef (umgangssprachlich), ” Mr Abhisit said.
“If the celebration could learn about the past, I think the country can move on but if not, there is still considerable risk in terms of abuse of power and corruption.
“Significantly, if it cannot detach itself from person or family’s benefits, we will be back to pre-coup 2014. inch
Mister Abhisit said the particular country’s next section should be written under the principles of liability and responsibility, along with the strengthening of bank checks and balances.
