Noppadon Pattama, a Pheu Thai list-member and chairman of the House screen on foreign affairs, said he has requested that the United States assist in obtaining the launch of the six Thai citizens who have been held prisoner as a result of the Hamas-Israel issue.
He claimed that he requested the demand from US Ambassador Robert F. Godec, who met with the House council and discussed Thai-US participation and assistance in a variety of fields. Mr. Godec expressed his grief at the meeting over the demise of Thai workers and the suffering of those who were held hostage by the battle in October.

The UN Security Council approved a plan for a ceasefire in Gaza, which the Pheu Thai MP thanked the United States for supporting. He characterized it as a vital step in the direction of ending the conflict and restoring a green state of peace in the area. After the Hamas harm, 39 Thai people died and 23 were released, according to data obtained by the Foreign Affairs Ministry in February.
The death of the remaining six Thai victims is unknown. In May, it was confirmed that two Thai victims had died.
The House committee reiterated to the US embassy on the subject of political strain that Thailand maintains international laws and that its foreign plan is balanced and unaligned with any nation, according to Mr. Noppadon.
He added that the committee commended Washington for supporting Thailand’s application to join the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development ( OECD ).
Thailand has been officially invited to initiate discussions about joining the OECD, a 38-nation organization, by the council of the OECD. This would make the country a candidate to the group.
But, the process may take years to complete.
