BAGAN SERAI: Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad (pic) will seek an audience with the Perak Sultan on Wednesday (Oct 12) to seek permission to dissolve the state legislative assembly so that state polls can be held concurrently with the 15th General Election (GE15).
The Perak Mentri Besar said he had just received consent to meet with Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah at Istana Kinta in Ipoh at 2pm Wednesday.
“The day will start as usual with the state executive council meeting.
“I will then seek an audience with the Perak Sultan in the afternoon,” he told a press conference after the Meet The Customers programme at Selinsing here on Tuesday (Oct 11).
Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob had, on Monday (Oct 10), announced that Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah has consented to the dissolution of Parliament, paving the way for the 15th General Election (GE15) to be held within 60 days.
Saarani, who is also state Barisan Nasional and Umno chairman, said they were prepared for GE15.
“We are always prepared. Since we lost in 2018, we have moved to set up a war room and a team, held meetings and prepared the machinery to work,” he said.
