All 143 members of parliament from the court-dissolved Move Forward Party ( MFP ) joined their new political home on Friday, renamed the People’s Party.

After the next election, the main opposition party will form a single-party state, according to Natthaphong Ruengpanyawut, the party’s newly appointed president.

The people, who have the upper hand in governing the nation, are the party’s most sacred and persistent organization, according to a statement released on Facebook. A webpage is still under development.

It will be a group by the people, for the people, to create a Thailand where the highest authority will relate to the people, it said.

Mr Natthaphong, 37, even vowed to carry on with all the main guidelines that helped Move Forward get 14.4 million party-list vote in last year’s election — 3.5 million more than the Pheu Thai Party that presently leads the state.

” Our quest from now on is to create a state of change in 2027″, he told investigators.

The Lese-majeste laws, Section 112, will still be used for that purpose. The Constitutional Court cited the plan as the main cause of Move Forward’s dissolution on Wednesday, which also forbade 11 of its executives from politics for ten years.

” We propose to amend article 112 to ensure that this law is not a political tool used to abuse others, but we wo n’t be careless”, Mr Natthaphong said.

” We will continue to push for the development and fixing of this legislation, which is still problematic”.

Mr Natthaphong, a record MP and former assistant secretary-general of Move Forward, was chosen as the group’s new head at a meeting of MPs on Thursday evening.

Some political observers were unaware of his choice, who had anticipated the transition of Move Forward assistant leader Sirikanya Tansakun.

The 43-year-old economist added that she was the one who sought Mr. Natthaphong’s nomination for the position and that it was not her intention to get leadership.

Ms Sirikanya may be deputy leader of the Women’s Party.

The group also selected a five-member executive committee consisting of Mr Natthaphong, secretary-general Sarayoot Jailak, manager Chutima Khotchaphan, secretary Natthawut Buaprachum, and Picharn Chaopattanawong.

Mr Natthaphong, a computer architecture student from Chulalongkorn University, formerly served as an administrative of Absolute Management Solutions Co, a cloud service provider. Before the Constitutional Court’s dissolution in 2020, he allegedly resigned from his position with the Future Forward Party on suspicion of breaking election law when he made political party funds in 2019.

The revolutionary party’s most recent rebranding includes a new generation of its inverted pyramid logo and a familiar orange color scheme. According to the report, the design reflects the dominance of people over rulers, and it also reflected civilization and quality.

Additionally, the group made a pledge to lift 10 million Thai pounds by the end of August. That purpose, it turns out, was accomplished on Friday within its first nine hours of operation.

From 10am to 8pm, The Women’s Party will hold a series of events at Stadium One in Bangkok’s Sam Yan neighborhood to present itself to the general public.
