People entering Malaysia no longer required to fill in traveller’s card from August

KUALA LUMPUR: Most of travellers entering Malaysia from Monday (Aug 1) will no longer need to fill in the  traveller’s card in the MySejahtera mobile application.

Announcing this particular on Saturday,   Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin said the particular move is aimed  at simplifying access procedures.

The decision was made right after considering Malaysia’s current health system, that is at a good plus controlled level, this individual added.

The particular MySejahtera app had been introduced in response  to the COVID-19 pandemic. It was designed to  facilitate contact tracing efforts and also is a vaccine passport.

Currently, vacationers entering Malaysia have to download, activate plus register the MySehjatera application on their cell phones.

They are needed to complete the traveller’s card before starting their particular journey, by proclaiming information such as their own passport number, nationality, the purpose of travel, host to departure, departure time and arrival time.    

Travellers are also asked to verify the type of COVID-19 vaccine and the number of vaccination dosages they have taken around the pre-departure form.  

Mr Khairy said authorities will step up the checking of travellers’ wellness symptoms  at all global entry points in Malaysia.

Upon arrival, if a traveller is detected to get a fever through the heat scanner or found to be unwell, are going to referred for re-examination by the health division, he said.

If a traveller will be suspected to have an contagious disease such as COVID-19, monkeypox or MERS-CoV, they will be taken to a nearby health facility for further examination plus treatment.

All of travellers who have just arrived from overseas should self-monitor their own health, comply with the operating procedures and so are advised to go to a health facility if they are unwell, added Mister Khairy.
