SINGAPORE: Peach Garden’s Thomson Plaza branch is allowed to resume operations after&nbsp, the Singapore Food Agency ( SFA ) lifted its suspension on Monday ( May 20 ).

SFA had suspended operations at the Chinese cafe from Apr 22 following&nbsp, reports of diarrhea.

According to SFA and the MOH, the restaurant has taken the necessary steps as directed by the company, and operations are now resumed.

According to the internet transfer, fifty-eight people died from eating meals prepared by the channel between April 17 and April 21. Two were hospitalised and have been discharged, it added.

SFA and MOH announced in April that they were looking into eight hepatitis cases involving 43 people who had consumed meals prepared by the cafe between April 17 and April 18.

RESTAURANT COMPLIED WITH REQUIRED MEASURES

During the expulsion period, the cafe complied with measures stipulated by SFA, such as the disposal of all available- to- have food, thawed food, and fragile food items, read the media release.

The restaurant likewise cleaned and sanitised its grounds, including equipment and utensils, and cleaned food preparation floors, furniture, and carpets.

Food health officers re-appeared and passed the Food Safety Course Level 3, while food handlers re-appeared and passed the Level 3 course.

Peach Garden’s Thomson Plaza tree has even taken additional steps, such as replacing its snow system, ship, and gentle support, said SFA and MOH.

Following the lifting of the suspension, SFA will continue to closely monitor Peach Garden to ensure it complies with food safety standards, the authorities added.

If Peach Garden is found to have violated the Environmental Public Health Regulations, SFA will take enforcement action in response.

If found guilty, offenders are liable to a fine not exceeding S$ 2, 000 ( US$ 1, 480 ).

” Food safety is a joint responsibility, and SFA would like to remind food operators to observe good food and personal hygiene practices at all times”, said the authorities.
