The ruling Pheu Thai Party slap has invited parties at odds over who will lead different House committees to a meeting this week to settle their differences.
According to Wisut Chainarun, a Pheu Thai list-MP and gathering punch, several parties are vying for the best seats on six sections of the 35 House committees.
Events looking for the same content will come together at the conference in an effort to find some common ground.
Particularly the Move Forward Party ( MFP ) is adamant that it must preside over 11 House committees. The MFP was given a limit to lead 11 boards because it has 151 MPs, making it the largest party.
After a district MP resigned in response to revelations about his criminal history, the group saw the MP number fall to 150, necessitating an election by by-election to be held in Rayong on Sunday. The MFP’s allotment has now been lowered to 10.
The party, however, insisted that it would eventually be given 11 chairmanships because it is still certain it will keep the Rayong desk.
This week before the by-election, Mr. Wisut announced that the meeting regarding head articles may proceed.
He asserted that the MFP, which has vowed to act as a” proactive” opposition party, is refusing to give in on the quota issue and that maintaining control of the House committees requires its leaders.
The MFP is at odds with itself over these positions on six House boards: law, justice, and individual rights; electricity transmission and local and special administrations; labor; counter-corruption; transportation; and resources accountability.
The best position on the rules committee is the subject of a conflict between the MFP and the Prachachat Party. Additionally, it is squabbling with Pheu Thai over the counter-corruption, travel, and budget accountability commissions while wrangling with the Bhumjaithai Party regarding the power supply and labor commissions.
According to Mr. Wisut, the MFP has made it abundantly clear that council chairs are crucial to keeping an eye on the effectiveness of the government.
He claimed that his attempts to persuade the group that committee members— who also have the authority to summon people to speak and review documents— were equally effective at completing the task. I believe a settlement is necessary, he declared.
