Parties ‘to announce merger’

The Kla Celebration and the Chart Pattana Party will hold a press conference these days to announce what could be a merger between the two political celebrations.

Yaowapa Burapolchai, Chart Pattana spokeswoman, earlier verified that party chair Suwat Liptapanlop and Kla leader Korn Chatikavanij are scheduled to show up together at a push conference to mention some “political news” at Mr Suwat’s residence in Bangkok’s Dusit district.

Kla speaker Sanyakorn Singweeratham last night also confirmed the program to hold a push briefing.

According to a politics source, the two parties will announce their particular merger, a decision manufactured by both parties after keeping talks for some time.

Both parties believe they could capitalise upon each other’s strengths.

Chart Pattana’s strength lies in its status as a long-established political party with a stronghold in Nakhon Ratchasima while Kla, which means Brave within Thai, is a newbie in politics trying to garner support from young voters.

Kla was initially registered as a political party with the Selection Commission after the general election in 2019. Mr Korn is really a seasoned politician with economic expertise, who seem to served as financing minister from December 20, 2008–Aug nine, 2011, under the Abhisit Vejjajiva administration.

After the combination, the new party will be expected to implement insurance policies to urgently deal with economic woes.

Mr Korn ran for the Liberal Party leadership but lost to Jurin Laksanawisit. After that, this individual quit the Democrats to form the Kla Party in Feb 2020.
