Daughter insists that the gathering her father founded is not under his control and that the visit was strictly private.
In spite of his daughter’s claims that he was still in power, former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra made a visit to the Pheu Thai Party office on Tuesday afternoon.
Later on Tuesday night, prominent Pheu Thai images and lawmakers gathered at the OAI Tower in Bangkok’s Bang Kapi district’s New Phetchaburi Road. Party chief Paetongtarn Shinawatra, Thaksin’s child, arrived with Pheu Thai officials at noon to make the greeting.
At 1.15 p.m., Thaksin arrived in a dark Bentley with the Por Khor 9999 Bangkok license plate. As he exited his vehicle, followers shouting” We love Thaksin”! rushed forth to give him plants. Some managed to get images with the person who founded the Thai Rak Thai Party 25 ages ago, and others hugged and kissed his cheeks.
Thaksin wore a blue shirt, pants and a darker blue suit. He did n’t have a neck or back brace when he went to Chiang Mai earlier this month.
” How are you? Thank you for welcoming me”, he shouted to the masses of properly- wishers.
After that, Thaksin took an elevator to the ninth floor to match Pheu Thai officials, social holder holders, and MP applicants, and walked into the party’s main office where he paid regards to a photograph of His Majesty the King. Then he made his way to the sixth floor to match Thai MPs from Pheu.
At 2.50pm, Ms Paetongtarn brought Thaksin to her group president’s office. She claimed to be a senior citizen who felt like her father was coming home but had no control over the group.
” He is content. She cited the Thai Rak Thai Party, which was the party’s founder who won the primary election in 2001 and later morphed into the People Power Party and finally Pheu Thai, as saying that many people are pleased to see my father.
The leader of the Pheu Thais predicted that Thaksin had occasionally make additional visits to the party’s headquarters. She stated that she would ask him that as his girl, not as the leader of Pheu Thai.
When asked suddenly if Thaksin was having an effect on Pheu Thai, Ms. Paetongtarn replied that he would only offer suggestions.
When asked if Thaksin would attend the Pheu Thai MPs ‘ divisions to show his support, Ms. Paetongtarn replied that if he did, it would be to meet with local people because they wanted to see him.
People would like to join my father, who was formerly the prime minister for them. For meetings will not occur on behalf of the party”, she said.
At 3.16 p.m., Thaksin left Pheu Thai’s offices.
Pheu Thai won 141 House votes in the May 14, 2023, public vote, 10 fewer than the Move Forward Party. The latter, however, was unable to type a state, and has since Pheu Thai cobbled together an 11-party coalition that includes the functions it used to resist in terms of military power.
The election of last year was the first time in Pheu Thai’s and its ancestors ‘ history that it did not manage to capture the majority of votes.
Thaksin, who may change 75 in July, returned to the state on Aug 22 last year after 15 years of self- imposed captivity. He was taken to the Supreme Court on the same day, where he received a sentence for abuse of authority and conflict of interest while in company prior to 2006, which was later reduced to one month.
He was therefore transported to the Bangkok Remand Prison, where corrections officials claimed he needed expert care for a number of serious ailments, including neck pain, hypertension, and lower body air, before moving him to Police General Hospital late that night.
Thaksin was released from the hospital on February 18 at halfway through his statement. He always spent a one night in jail.
He is over 70 years aged, really ill, and allegedly served at least six weeks of his prison time, according to criminal government, and meets the requirements for pardon.
