SINGAPORE: Team Singapore players who participated in the Paris Olympics and Paralympics, including medallists , Jeralyn Tan, Maximilian Maeder and Yip Pin Xiu, have been invited to attend a hanging of parliament following quarter.
In a Facebook post on Monday ( Sep 23 ),  , Minister for Culture, Community and Youth Edwin Tong said that his ministry will propose a motion at the sitting to congratulate all the athletes, especially the medallists, for their achievements at the events.
” Future quarter, at the October sitting of parliament, we , will , honour our Olympians and Paralympians who have represented Singapore with such contrast in Paris”, he wrote.
Team Singapore sent 10 players from 11 different sporting to the Games and 10 sportsmen from 11 different athletics to the Olympics.
Additionally, Mr. Tong extended the offer to the sportsmen ‘ individuals and mentors.
They are the excitable staff behind the group, who have been unwavering in their help and unwavering in their fervor for Team Singapore. Their help has meant everything to us”, he wrote.
Kitefoiler , Maximilian Maeder , clinched a bronze medal at the Paris Olympics, becoming Singapore’s youngest Olympian medallist.
Swimmer Yip Pin Xiu won gold in the 100 and 50-meter backstroke S2 and S2 events, taking home the names for the second consecutive Championships.
Jeralyn Tan, a Boccia person, won her second medal at the Paralympics, earning a traditional metallic.
In his blog,  , Mr Tong added that the preparing for the 2028 Los Angeles sports and 2032 Brisbane matches had started.
” The Paris Olympics and Paralympics came to an end a few weeks ago. But the inspiring stories of how Team Singapore athletes competed with the world’s best on the biggest arena, with courage, resilience and a deep desire to excel for Singapore, ( live ) on”, he wrote.
” We will develop on what we have accomplished and draw lessons from the Paris plan”
