PAP announces new central executive committee; Lawrence Wong officially elected secretary-general

SINGAPORE: The People’s Action Party ( PAP ) announced on Wednesday ( Dec 4 ) its new central executive committee ( CEC ), officially electing Prime Minister Lawrence Wong as the party’s secretary-general.

Outgoing secretary-general Lee Hsien Loong will be a member of the committee.

In a press release, PAP stated that the CEC thanked cheerful secretary-general Lee Hsien Loong for his numerous years of authority and contributions to the celebration and Singapore.

Four fresh people were co-opted on Wednesday. &nbsp,

They are: GRC Member of Parliament ( MP ) for the Tampines Desmond Choo, Senior Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and National Development Sim Ann, NTUC Secretary-general Ng Chee Meng, and former MP Lam Pin Min. &nbsp,

Transport Minister Chee Hong Tat was co-opted on Nov 24&nbsp, at the ruling party’s annual convention.

Voting for the PAP’s CEC takes place every two centuries. The group will be guided by the administration elected in this round into the upcoming General Election, which needs to be held by November of next year.
