Peshawar: Pakistan is racing to handle an air waste issue that is triggering fears of a global health disaster.
In Punjab, Pakistan’s most populous state, more than 11 million children under the age of five are exposed to harmful weather daily, according to United Nations quotes.
European air quality monitor IQAir usually ranks Lahore, Punjab’s money, among the world’s top three most poisoned cities, with its air quality index often exceeding 100 – in the toxic levels.
In contrast, the normal amount of PM2. 5 – fine particulate air particles hazardous to health – recorded often transcends the World Health Organization’s 24-hour heat superior guidelines of 15 micrograms per square inch.
The world health system has called atmosphere pollution one of the greatest challenges to children’s health.
Students in the municipal capital have raised concerns that the tainted air hurts their eye.
“Many are unaware that poor air quality not only harms the lungs, ” said student Kashaf Zahra.
“ In Lahore, many ( students ) are suffering from deteriorating eyesight. When exposed to this poisoned atmosphere, the dangerous particles can provide the eye. ”
