Pakistani separatists kill 26 in railway station blast

QUETTA, Pakistan: &nbsp, A bombing claimed by Pakistani separatists killed 26 people, including 14 soldiers, at a railway station in the southwestern Balochistan province, a hospital spokesman said on Saturday ( Nov 9 ).

As people waited on a program at Quetta’s provincial capital, the fire struck.

” Fourteen people of the military and 12 civilians were killed”, said Wasim Baig, official for Quetta’s Sandeman Provincial Hospital, raising an earlier burden of 25 provided by police.

Forty-six people of the security forces and 14 civilians were wounded, the official added.

A big metal strip that shields travellers from the elements had been blown off, according to an AFP journalist who witnessed pools of blood and ripped packs on the scene.

Despite numerous attacks in Balochistan, the burden of Saturday’s storm was particularly great for the western province, which edges Afghanistan and Iran.

The train station explosion hit at around 8.45am ( 3.45am GMT ) and was claimed by the Baloch Liberation Army ( BLA ), one of the area’s main separatist groups.

After finishing a program at the Infantry School, the BLA stated in a statement that the attack was carried out on a Muslim military unit at Quetta Railway Station.

Standard media sources cited railroad officials who claimed the fire occurred close to the solution booth when two railways were scheduled to depart, according to The Associated Press of Pakistan.
