Pakistan suicide bombing death toll rises to 63

PESHAWAR, Pakistan: A state official announced on Wednesday( Aug 2) that the death toll from a death attack that occurred in Pakistan and was intended to target an extreme spiritual group’s political protest has increased to 63 deaths while 123 are still receiving treatment.

The attack, which was the deadliest on a democratic party since running for the previous election in 2018, has sparked safety issues in advance of the general election that is scheduled for November.

The Jamiat Ulema Islam-F ( JUI – F ) party, which is known for its ties to hard-line Islamists but which denounces militants seeking to overthrow the government, was targeted by the Islamic State militant group on Sunday.

According to Liaqat Khan, the medical director of Bajaur’s district office hospital, 63 people have died so much, and the number may increase with 123 injured being treated in various hospitals following the attack in the northwest region.

The explosion, which followed weeks of political unrest and an economic crisis, was branded as an assault on the political process by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
