Pheu Thai Party chief Paetongtarn Shinawatra said on Wednesday that the group does not condone past Bangkok MP Wan Ubamrung’s resignation as a group member for fraternizing with a party rival in a nearby election.

Ms. Paetongtarn said she and Pheu Thai MPs were speaking on the phone about her meeting with Pol Lt. Gen. Kamronwit Toopkrajang on July 9 during the Provincial Administrative Organization ( PAO ) chairman poll in Pathum Thani on June 30.

Pol Lt Gen Kamronwit, who ran under the Khon Rak Pathum ( Love Pathum ) group ticket, was a favourite to win the election. But, he was defeated by Pheu Thai member Charn Phuangphet by less than 2, 000 seats. &nbsp,

Mr Wan went to view Pol Lt Gen Kamronwit, who is a close family friend, after the ballot had closed to observe the vote counting up. &nbsp,

The meeting, however, irked the group, which summonsed him to reveal himself to Ms Paetongtarn.

Mr. Wan told the audience that he thought it was okay for him to meet Pol Lt Gen Kamronwit, who had long ties to past Thai leading Thaksin Shinawatra and whom Pheu Thai values highly. According to Mr. Wan, the meeting took place after the polls closed, so it would n’t have had an impact on the outcome of the election. &nbsp,

He resisted leaving the party after his July 9 meet with Ms. Paetongtarn. However, the party’s behavior caused him to believe that he no longer qualifies as an advantage, so he chose to leave Pheu Thai.

Ms. Paetongtarn stated on Wednesday that she was pleased to meet with Mr. Wan. Party secretary-general Sorawong Thienthong also attended the speak.

We opened up, and as a group leader, I felt the need to be honest with the people. Clearing the air may help to clear up any unease in the parties ‘ minds. That’s significant”, she said.

The Pheu Thai head claimed nothing in the conversation with Mr. Wan that was spectacular or worth hearing. She avoided dramatizing the conversation with Mr. Wan or the post-PAO surveys face. &nbsp,

” I do n’t hold any grudge toward Mr Wan whatsoever”, said Ms Paetongtarn, adding she wished Mr Wan all the success in his future endeavours. &nbsp,

Additionally, Ms. Paetongtarn said she planned to speak with Worachai Hema, a red-shirt head and advisor to Deputy Prime Minister Phumtham Wechayachai, about his new accusations of Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin.

On July 6, Mr. Worachai criticized Mr. Srettha for what he claimed were the PM’s inconsequential trips to the provinces.
