The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration ( BMA ) reports that over 360, 000 people gathered for the Songkran celebrations in Bangkok over the first two days of the holiday season.

Between noon and midnight on April 12 and 13, Khao San Road, where the festivities took place, welcomed 197, 314 people, while Silom Road, which was open from noon to midnight, saw 165, 239 customers.

Virat Manassanitwong, BMA’s assistant continuous minister, instructed the Office of Traffic and Transport to check all CCTV cameras in both places on Monday during a daily lecture at BMA’s control center to make sure they are fully operational.

He thanked authorities from all 50 area offices and members of the control center for assisting Songkran revelers on a continuous basis.

In order to prevent vendors from blocking pedestrian regions and evacuation routes, which might impede recovery efforts in the event of an incident, Pol Gen Adit Ngamjitsuksri, an assistant to Bangkok government Chadchart Sittipunt, asked city authorities to track sellers.

Between April 11 and April 13, according to the BMA, 11 traffic incidents occurred that resulted in 10 murders and four wounds.

In the same time, five developing fires were reported, one accident and eight accidents, in total.

Separately, the State Railway of Thailand ( SRT ) reported that passengers ‘ numbers at Krungthep Aphiwat Central Terminal and Hua Lamphong Station decreased a few days ago because the majority of the city’s residents had already left between April 10 and April 13 and that they had already gotten out of the city.

More than 339, 000 people traveled by train from both stations during that four-day time, with 120, 954 passengers traveling on the southern range.

To meet growing demand, the SRT added specific solutions to the northern and southern ranges.

More train staff and authorities have been stationed at stations and on trains, according to the SRT, to ensure people ‘ security around the clock.

Travelers are urged to follow health rules, avoid drinking and smoking while traveling on trains, and report any suspicious behavior to coach attendants.
