Over the weekend, climate crime officers and business functions officials seized 14 400 tons of dangerous aluminum dross from two smelting plants in Nakhon Pathom and Samut Sakhon provinces close to Bangkok.
Pol Col Arun Wacharasisukanya, deputy chief of the Natural Resources and Environmental Crime Division, said that on Saturday , highway authorities in Nakhon Pathom stopped a semi-trailer truck carrying large bags of metal dross , without consent. The vehicle was heading for Samut Sakhon’s Muang district’s metal shop.
Officers then visited the place, Taibao Aluminum Co, in tambon Bang Krachao of Muang region in Samut Sakhon. On the grounds, authorities seized 1, 400 bags containing a complete of 2, 100 kilograms of metal waste. Police discovered hot aluminum bars at the factory on Saturday even though it was n’t in operation.
Authorities also conducted a search of a different melting facility in Muang region, Nakhon Pathom, where the aluminum dross was discovered on the truck. No employees were present at the shop, which was also not in operation.
At the webpage, authorities seized 12, 387 tonnes of metal dross and heated aluminium bars. The Department of Industrial Works, according to the government, had in April ordered the closure of this stock because it was operating illegally, but it turns out that the order was defied.
Authorities said they believed both companies to be run by Chinese people. He promised that authorities had formally investigate and prosecute those accountable for the illegal activity at the Nakhon Pathom shop.
According to him, commercial works officials have not yet been able to verify the Samut Sakhon operation.
