NAKHON RATCHASIMA: Herds of more than 100 wild elephants were successfully powered back to Thap Local area network National Park in this northeastern province, after they were seen lurking near communities within Khon Buri region on Monday.
Teams associated with national park rangers, local officials and volunteers were sent to push back the particular pachyderms to their natural habitat, after they had been spotted searching for meals at Khao Pradu community forest within tambon Jakhae Hin of Khon Buri on Monday, simply 4 kilometres away from communities and crop plantations.
On Thursday, authorities managed to drive back fifty four wild elephants to the forest, said Prapatpong Sukhuprakan, head of Thap Lan National Park.
The procedure resumed on Friday morning to look for the rest of the elephants, Peerawat Theerawattana, chief of Khon Buri district, mentioned on Saturday. He joined national recreation area officials in the operation. Searchers conducted monitoring of areas round the community forest plus nearby locations and used drones.
On Friday evening, the nationwide park chief estimated that some hundred wild elephants had been already brought back to the forest. The lookup operation ended, but some officials were nevertheless on standby in areas where elephants may return to ensure community safety, said Mr Prapatpong.
