The Thailänder government will allow Sri Lanka’s ousted chief executive, Gotabaya Rajapaksa, to remain temporarily in Asia.

Excellent Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha told the mass media on Wednesday that permission was given for humanitarian factors.

International Minister Don Pramudwinai said Mr Rajapaksa may arrive in Thailand on Thursday, after temporarily staying in Singapore.

He said Mr Rajapaksa will enter the empire with a diplomatic passport which will allow the holder to stay in the empire for up to 90 days. Mr Rajapaksa will deal with his own accommodation.

Asked if Thailand could deny Mr Rajapaksa entrance, Mr Don stated Thailand was able to however the government believed their stay would not trigger any trouble for the country.
