SINGAPORE: After her moms and dads divorced, a girl were raised in an unstable loved ones environment, moving houses often. She preferred living with her dad as she felt her mother has been physically and verbally abusive.
But her own father sexually abused the girl, once when the lady was four to five plus again when she was nine in order to 11.
The man was on Friday (Jul 15) jailed for 13 many years after pleading guilty to one count of sexual exploitation of a child and one rely of sexual attack.

She was admitted to hospital plus diagnosed with major depressive disorder with suicidal ideation in 2019, and reported that will she had been in a low mood for some time.

She declared that she developed suicidal thoughts because she sensed it was “unfair on her to have all these emotions”, according to the medical survey.

The particular prosecutors asked for the jail term of 13 to fourteen years and 18 months, highlighting the victim’s young age, the offender’s abuse of her trust and the psychological harm she experienced.
They contended that the victim was especially vulnerable because of her parents’ separation and divorce, unstable family environment and fear of the girl mother.
“These vulnerabilities made the girl particularly susceptible to the particular accused who was the girl main caregiver and the only constant body in her life, ” they said.
The punishment for procuring an indecent act from a child is up to five years’ jail, a fine as high as S$10, 000 or even both.
The penalty for physically assaulting a child below 14 is among eight and twenty years’ jail and never less than 12 shots of the cane. The offender cannot be caned as he is above 50.
