The Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation ( MHESI) will review related laws to determine if Senator Keskamol Pleansamai’s “professor” title complies with regulations.
After receiving the most seats in the most current Senate election, Dr. Keskamol’s academic credentials are under scrutiny in the general public. There are concerns about her use of the doctor title, but it appears that there is no proof that she taught at any educational institution.
Supamas Isarabhakdi, the minister of MHESI, addressed questions regarding the president’s academic credentials. There are rules governing the scientific positions of associate professor, associate professor, and professor.  ,
Applications for these scientific positions must be submitted to the ministry through Thai universities for evaluation before they are submitted for aristocratic endorsement, she said.
When asked if the senator could use the title “professor” when giving personal information, Ms Supamas said,” I do n’t think she can. The similarity analysis will be done by the hiring institution.
In light of this discussion, Ms. Supamas also stated that the government is considering checking the credentials of individuals who have received professorships overseas and want to work in Thailand.
The minister said she will have to appear into associated laws and is uncertain whether using the “professor” name without a proper equivalency assessment by a university is illegal.
Ms. Supamas also noted that the agency’s task is to determine whether Dr. Keskamol actually obtained a PhD from California University, while the agency’s responsibility is to conduct an equivalence analysis.
Dr. Keskamol refuted users ‘ claims about her educational qualifications last week, stating that she had received her degree from California University in the United States and had confirmed that she had conducted all the research herself.
Dr. Keskamol added that it is impossible to compare the “professor” name at foreign universities to those at Thai universities.
