NTU student peeped at man showering, gets short detention order

SINGAPORE: A Nanyang Technological University (NTU) student who peeped at a man while he was showering was sentenced upon Thursday (Jul 28) to a short detention order of two weeks.

Xu Ziye, 22, pleaded guilty to two counts of voyeurism and possessing obscene films, with a third charge of felony trespass considered intended for sentencing.

The 24-year-old victim’s identification and the location of the incident are secured by gag order.

The court heard that the target went to the toilet to shower at about a few. 30pm on August 26, 2020.

Xu entered the cubicle next to the particular victim, intending to use his phone’s digital camera to spy over the man.

The particular victim, who was totally naked, saw Xu lifting his telephone over the wall dividing the cubicles and pointing it in the direction of him.
