North Korean officials sport Kim Jong Un pins for first time

The latest development in the development of a cult of the leader’s personality emerged on Sunday ( Jun 30 ) when North Korean officials wore pins with a portrait of Kim Jong Un in public for the first time in photos released by state media.

The officials, speaking at a crucial conference chaired by Kim of the lonely state’s ruling party, wore the usual party logo pin on the appropriate lapel and, on the left chest, the pin with Kim’s face against a flag- shaped dark background.
