DISCOVERING CHANGES FOR VEP REGISTRATION

Drivers must first register online and then collect a radio frequency identification ( RFID ) tag that must be attached to their vehicle in order to obtain a VEP. &nbsp,

Some Singapore owners have since reported problems with the application process, with some reporting that they were unable to renew or register their vehicles. &nbsp,

Additionally, drivers of vintage vehicles had vehicles that had previously been registered for the VEP. Another had trouble renewing their previous VEPs. &nbsp,

Loke acknowledged that his department was conscious of issues with VEP registration for candidates. &nbsp,

The agency’s Land Division and Road Transport Department&nbsp, has been instructed to research and simplify the process. &nbsp,

” Once we have rectified&nbsp, that ( the issues ), we will make some announcement”, he said, adding that he would personally look into the matter and visit Johor for an inspection. &nbsp,

” We will make some announcements soon in terms&nbsp, of improvements” .&nbsp,

According to Loke, there are about 70 000 cars with VEP keywords that have been activated in Singapore.

More than 200, 000 motor lorries have been registered, but they still need to install and activate their VEP keywords.
