No ‘inspiration’ yet on when to dissolve parliament, says Malaysia PM Ismail Sabri

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia’s Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob declared that he has yet to determine when to break down parliament to pave the way for Malaysia’s 15th general selection (GE15).

He said any kind of decision on this depends on the outcome of the conversations among the top market leaders of the United Malays National Organisation (UMNO) this Friday (Sep 30).

“On the 30th (Sept) evening, there are the top five and politics bureau meetings, and then at night the supreme council meeting. So let’s wait, ” he or she was quoted as saying by Bernama on Sunday.

Mr Ismail Sabri was speaking to reporters at the end of his visit to New York, where he provided an address on the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).  

UMNO’s top five frontrunners are party leader Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, deputy president Mohamad Hasan and vice presidents Mohamed Khaled Nordin, Mahdzir Khalid and Ismail Sabri.  

The particular GE15 is not because of until September the coming year, but Ahmad Zahid and Mr Mohamad have been pushing meant for early polls.  

The prime minister said he has however to receive the plan for this Friday’s UMNO supreme council meeting.

“I personally do not know the plan of the meeting and other details. So we can only discuss that night time itself, ” he or she added.

Requested if he had discovered the “inspiration” for that date to dissolve parliament to make way for GE15, the prime ressortchef (umgangssprachlich) replied in the unfavorable.

“I have now found the motivation on how to preserve the green areas, ” he said, mentioning how he had been inspired by Brand new York’s Central Recreation area to develop a similar facility in Malaysia.

“However, as for the election, I have yet to find any (inspiration), ” he added, based on Bernama.
