Night Safari will soon have a new walking trail where visitors can see pangolins, otters and flying squirrels

Singaporean fans of animals can anticipate yet more destinations in the upcoming years. Mandai Wildlife Group revealed on Thursday ( Jul 25 ) that the Night Safari is set to have a new 280m-long walking trail, months after announcing a forest resort and Singapore’s fifth wildlife park.

Here, guests can look out for pet species such as the Sunda animal, delayed individual, binturong, exotic small-clawed animal and spotted large flying squirrel.

But these animals are n’t just for show.

The animal team at Mandai Wildlife Group has treated over 200 exotic pangolins over the past ten years and is beginning a breeding program for the species.

In a media speech, Dr Cheng Wen-Haur, assistant CEO of Mandai Wildlife Group, said:” The fresh Pangolin Trail tells the story of our ongoing quest to save this critically endangered species, with a systematic plan to protect them both in the wild, as well as in our attention. The path will provide visitors with the unique opportunity to learn about the quiet and elusive pangolin while it is active at night.
